Connection guide
Choose the connection your client supports.
Current API-key clients
Use https://ezramcp.com/v1/mcp with an Ezra API key for the 11 legacy lookup and collection tools. Create a key in Account after verifying your email. Copy the setup snippets.
Staged OAuth connection
The local candidate adds https://ezramcp.com/mcp with independent feature gates: 1 account-authenticated art tool, 13 protected tools with OAuth, or all 14 together. Deployment and actual host connection testing are pending; OAuth is disabled by default. This page does not establish live ChatGPT or Muse availability.
When enabled, choose Ezra in an OAuth-capable host, verify your existing Ezra account on Ezra's first-party page, and approve the requested permissions. Free accounts are eligible. The consent screen identifies the account and client. It does not sign you up or authorize billing and key management.
mcp:call: Scripture lookup and catalog tools.mcp:call collections:read: read accessible collections and search public or owned collections.mcp:call collections:write: create a collection owned by your account.
Use the host's connection controls to stop using a connection. The staged OAuth server supports token revocation and rotating refresh tokens. Removing a host connection is not a promise that stored grants or saved collections are deleted. Do not paste tokens, API keys, or email codes into a chat or a support issue.
One allowance per account
Free includes 20 additional WEB calls per UTC month, at most one per UTC day. Pro includes 10,000 and Max 100,000 ordinary calls per UTC month. The fixed daily WEB verse and art are quota-exempt. The allowance is shared across the account's API keys, OAuth clients, and endpoints. Authorized dispatched calls, including lookup errors, count. Discovery and authorization failures do not count; shared-route devotional art is free and exempt.
Save references without copying licensed text
Collections store title, owner, visibility, Bible version identifier, verse references, and separate API.Bible/global tags. Names, descriptions and tags are user-supplied content; a stored edition label does not select an API.Bible translation. Private is the default; only the owner can read a private collection. Unlisted collections are accessible by ID; public collections can appear in search.
Devotional artwork
The shared route adds get_devotional_art, an existing-account mcp:call tool returning up to two native images with attribution. Select an artwork ID, pericope ID/name, or single-chapter reference; the image must be available and the requested association must match. Artwork calls do not require a paid account.
The new local package prepares all 4,706 strict artwork records as bounded display images, retaining separate original source and derivative lineage. Publication is pending; local packaging is not a claim of a live hosted library. The older optional preview contains only two fixture images. Rights and source attribution are supplied per record; association and visual review flags remain visible. Associations can reflect reception or devotional suitability rather than literal depiction. No artwork is promised for every passage.
Scripture coverage
Ezra looks up available World English Bible text and curated topic/story metadata. Coverage follows the loaded data. A chapter result is the available rows, not a guarantee of a complete chapter or corpus. Unsupported lookups return errors rather than invented verses.

Daily verse and selected translations
get_daily_passage has no arguments and returns one fixed WEB verse for the UTC day, from a seven-entry weekly rotation. Repeats remain free. For a paid account, list_available_translations returns the configured API.Bible key’s current catalogue. Supply a returned translation_id to get_verse for up to eight same-chapter verses with original text, edition, copyright and attribution; omission preserves WEB. Provider configuration is disabled by default and requires separate activation.
